What Do I Want to be When I Grow Up?
When I was younger I was asked frequently what I wanted to be when I grew up. I thought that I had it figured out and then I got to college. I pretended that I knew what I was doing for a little while, but I am finally at the point where I am admitting that I have no clue where I will end up in a few year's time.
As I have reached this state in my life, I have realized the faith it takes to follow God's plan for me. This is a frustrating lesson to continually learn, yet I can honestly say that I am genuinely happy right. now. I have no clue when/if /who I will marry, where my degree will lead me, what jobs I should have, or any other multitude of things. I do however have faith that God won't give me a miserable plan if I am holding up my end of the deal.
In light of that, I have decided to make every step of my personal path meaningful. I will work hard, play hard, and focus on becoming a better version of myself.
So. What do I want to be when I grow up? Good question.
I want to be a better version of myself.
I want to be someone who trusts God.
I want to be someone who loves like Christ.
I want to be someone who people feel comfortable talking to.
I want to be someone who contributes.
I want to be someone who reads.
I want to be someone who spends time outside.
I want to be someone who cooks.
I want to be someone who runs.
I want to be someone who smiles through the hard times.
I want to be someone who is not satisfied by personal mediocrity.
I want to be someone who celebrates others and makes them feel important.
I want to be someone who dances.
I want to be someone who never stops developing.
If who I am today is determining who I will be when I am grown up, I've got a lot to work on before I am someone who...
-As Always,
